Seafood Mac And
Cheese
Ingredients:
2 cups of dry Macaroni
6 oz Claw Crab Meat
8 oz Shrimp, peeled and deveined
¼ cup of butter
3 tablespoons of flour
2 cups of milk
1/3 of cup heavy cream
3 cups of mild yellow Cheddar cheese
1 cup of extra sharp white Cheddar cheese
¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 of teaspoon mustard powder
1 ¼ cups of crabmeat with
1/3 of cup extra crabmeat for top of casserole
Let’s get into it
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Lightly butter the casserole dish In a medium skillet heat the butter and oil
Add bread crumbs and cook, while stirring until lightly browned Remove the dish from
the heat and stir in some Parmesan cheese
Set it aside
Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente ( still firm) Drain very well
In a medium saucepan melt the butter and whisk in flour
Cook and stir for several minutes until bubbling
Whisk in milk and cream and cook, while stirring constantly until it’s thick and smooth
Remove from the heat and add the cheese salt and mustard
Gently stir in 1 ¼ cups crabmeat Spoon into the prepared casserole
Place extra crabmeat on top and sprinkle lightly with the crumb topping Bake 25 to 30 minutes until sauce is bubbly and the top is golden brown
