Homemade Flying Dutchman Recipe
Ingredients: - 2 beef patties (about 1/4 pound each) - 2 slices of cheese (cheddar or American) - Salt and pepper to taste - Sliced onion (2 large onions) - Thousand Island dressing Instructions: 1. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat. 2. Slice each onion into thick rings, about 1/2 inch thick. 3. Season both sides of the beef patties with salt and pepper. 4. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. 5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt. 6. While the patties are cooking, heat a separate skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. 7. Place the onion rings in the skillet and cook for about 2-3
minutes per side, or until they become tender and slightly translucent. 8. Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. 9. Assemble the burger by placing a patty on top of one onion ring. 10. Add another onion ring on top of the patty. 11. Spread a generous amount of Thousand Island dressing on the top onion ring. 12. Place the second patty on top of the dressing. 13. Finish by adding another onion ring on top of the second patty. 14. Serve the Flying Dutchman burger with a side of your choice and enjoy! This variation of the Flying Dutchman burger replaces the traditional bun with onion rings, adding a unique and flavorful twist to the classic recipe. Enjoy your homemade Flying Dutchman burger with onions as the bun!
